We offer support and advocacy for individual women and are a member of the Pictou County Sexual Assault Response Team.

Everyone has a duty to immediately report even a suspicion of abuse to a child 18 or younger. You can report the abuse anonymously.
If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected.
physical abuse: the intentional use of force on any part of a child's body that results in injury
emotional abuse: anything that causes serious mental or emotional harm to a child, which the parent does not attempt to prevent or address
sexual abuse: the improper exposure of a child to sexual contact, activity or behaviour
neglect: any lack of care that may cause significant harm to a child's development or endanger the child in any way

If you are a victim of crime, or the spouse or relative of a victim, the Provincial Victim Services Program can provide you with information, support and assistance as your case moves through the criminal justice system.
We can help by:
giving general information on the criminal justice system (police, courts, prosecution, corrections)
getting information about your court case
helping you contact police, the Crown Attorney, and the correctional system
helping you prepare to testify in court
explaining and helping you prepare a Victim Impact Statement
helping you apply for restitution
helping you apply for Criminal Injuries Counselling
providing special help to child victims or witnesses of crime
providing support to victims and families of Human Trafficking and Sexualized Violence
referring you to other agencies that may be helpful

Fatherhood Matters - Pictou County
Provides programming and services for fathers and father figures primarily in Pictou County and outside areas.
Services include drop-ins, group programming, and providing connections to community services and resources.
